Medical Insurance in respect of ICCR Scholars

This is with reference to the scholarship being given to the foreign national to study in India under ICCR administered Scholarship schemes.

  1. 1.An advisory had been uploaded on the A2A portal wherein it was advised that the student would mandatorily be required to obtain medical insurance prior to their coming to India to join their respective countries. However, recently it has been observed that the students have been arriving in India without the relevant insurance. This has led ICCR to awkward position on few occasions.
  1. 2.In order to avoid such a situation, it is desirable that before submitting visa application, it should be ensured that student has the required medical insurance for the whole duration of the course i.e, the issuance of visa may be linked to medical insurance and it should invariably be uploaded on the portal before issue of visa. After that a proof of it should be submitted along with visa application.
